Most often, the pain in the spleen tells about the disease of a pathological nature, resulting in this body. It may be infarct and abscess of the spleen, cysts and tumors of the spleen, tuberculosis of the spleen and in parasitic infestation of the body.
Another group of factors causing pain in the spleen, are causes of external influence – injury and mechanical damage to the body, chronic alcoholism and drug abuse, poor diet, leading to increased load on the body.
In some diseases, mostly infectious in nature, the spleen is involved in the inflammatory process, which leads to pain in this area – for example, in malaria, typhoid, mononucleosis, cytomegalovirus infection, acute forms of hepatitis, infectious pathologies of the respiratory tract, and gastrointestinal ailments.
In certain cases of pain are not the result of disease – for example, excessive physical activity, running, when there is a load on the spleen.
